Clark Educational Services (CES) is a
non-profit organization in Fort Worth, Texas, that provides financial aid to
international (and some American) students studying music at Texas Christian
University.
Founded in 2000 has helped more than fifty
students with stipends ranging from $100 to $10,000.
The organization provides financial aid for
students’ needs that scholarships do not help, such as housing, food, books,
and emergency funds. Visas for international students prevent them from working
or “earning” money while studying here.
CES not only provides financial aid but
also serves as a platform for the music students to share their musical talents
with the greater Fort Worth community. When the students perform their music at
concerts or at schools for younger children they are keeping the community
connected to an important type of music-classical music.
In the future CES hopes to become more of a
clearing house for financial aid and scholarships for international music
students. CES hopes students would fill out applications and be directed or
connected with people or groups that would fund them or provide.
There's a lot of good information in there about the organization. It's stuff I would probably never know if I hadn't taken this class. More people on TCU's campus should know about this organization!
ReplyDeleteThis is a good informational blog. This blog does a good job at describing what CES is and does as well as features good pictures.
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job in finding key points and talking about them briefly to give people an idea of CES. It has just enough information to give people an idea, and also make them want to go learn more about it on there own.
ReplyDeleteI've loved learning about this amazing organization. I love the pictures you included. The part about what the organization expects in the future was perfect to add at the end. Great Job!
